City Club’s New Leaders Council (NLC) invites anyone interested in getting more involved in civic life—and making friends along the way—to join its monthly happy hour geared toward those in their 20s to 40s. Whether you’re a seasoned activist, advocate, organizer, or volunteer, or just beginning to understand how community change is made, these gatherings will help you hear different perspectives and make connections that support your growth as a civic leader. NLC gatherings are designed to make walking into a room of new faces feel less daunting. They begin with relaxed, informal mingling and move into a brief, facilitated conversation, Q&A, or presentation. Part program, part social, and all fun. This month’s program is a conversation on how to strengthen Portland’s economy and support people who do business and work locally. If you’re a business owner, entrepreneur, worker, or job seeker in Portland, you’re especially encouraged to attend and share your firsthand experience.
