About the Event Join City Club’s Ross Island Study Committee for a presentation of their recommendations for the future use, ownership, and access of Ross Island, a large island complex in the lower Willamette River near downtown Portland. The committee spent over a year conducting thorough research. They reviewed public records and past studies, heard testimony from more than 50 witnesses, and received briefings from several public agencies. The result is a 30-plus-page report titled Ross Island: An Urgent Call to Action, Toward Public Stewardship and Long-Term Responsibility. This event takes place before City Club members vote on adopting the report as the organization’s official position. Members are especially encouraged to read the report and attend this event to have any questions answered that may inform their vote. It’s also a great opportunity for non-members to learn more about City Club’s research program and the benefits of membership. The presentation will be livestreamed and recorded via Zoom. Click here to register for the Zoom event. Thank You We thank the study committee members, including co-chairs Mark Lear and Debbie Hill; William Burgel, Brendan Doyle, Susan Pearce, Ethan Seltzer, and Caroline Zavitkovski. We also thank research advisors Chris Smith and the late Meredith Savery for their hard work. Event link: https://pdxcityclub.org/event/ross-island-study-committee-presentation/
