Be Wildfire Aware | Free Day at the Discovery Museum

As wildfire risk continues to increase across our region, understanding how to prepare has never been more important. Be Wildfire Aware is a free, community-focused event designed to help individuals and families learn practical ways to reduce wildfire risk and build resilience. Whether you live in an urban neighborhood, a suburban community, or a rural area, this event will offer useful tools and information to help you protect your home and loved ones. What to Expect (program details coming soon): Community Organizations & Exhibitors: Learn from local and regional partners sharing resources related to wildfire preparedness and safety. Interactive Activities & Demonstrations: Explore hands-on experiences that illustrate how wildfire spreads and how risk can be reduced. Expert Conversations: Hear from fire and forestry professionals about wildfire trends, prevention strategies, and community readiness. Preparedness Resources: Take home guides and materials to help you plan for wildfire season before it begins. Be Wildfire Aware is an important event for anyone who wants to be informed, prepared, and proactive during wildfire season. Homeowners, renters, families, and community leaders alike will find valuable guidance. Join us on May 17 to learn, connect, and take steps toward a safer, more fire-adapted community.
