Jane B. by Agnès V. x Director Fits

Jane B. by Agnès V. (1988) Directed by Agnès Varda. 1hr 37min. Not Rated. Jane B. by Agnès V. is presented by Director Fits as part of a series on Fashion and Film. Two incredible artists converge in this film about aging, art, and achievement. Featuring actor, muse, and icon Jane Birkin in conversation with artist, filmmaker, and icon Agnès Varda — the film is a free-flowing portrait with incredible style.  “Made in the spirit of pure, uninhibited play, this free-flowing dual portrait unfolds as a shared reverie between two women as they collapse the boundaries between artist and subject.” – Criterion Collection  Director Fits is a media platform focusing on the everyday sartorial decisions of filmmakers. We believe that directors are an often overlooked group of impeccably well-dressed artists making bold choices when it comes to clothing. We focus on their personal style, the practical garments they wear while they work, their buttoned-up red carpet looks, and so much more. We dive deep into the thought process of a director’s view on clothing and how it affects them, as well as their films. We do not generally provide advisories about subject matter or potentially triggering content in films, and films exhibited don’t necessarily reflect the views of PAM CUT or the Portland Art Museum. In addition to the synopses, trailers, and other links on our website, further information about content and age-appropriateness for specific films can be found on sites like Common Sense Media, IMDb, and DoesTheDogDie.com.
