The National Forest is the solo indie folk and Americana project of Logan Bowden, a singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist originally from Huntsville, Alabama. With no real folk scene in his hometown to lean on, he learned every piece of DIY audio engineering himself, from tracking to mixing. In late 2023, he started The National Forest as a way to quiet his inner critic: write, record, and release a song every single day. That stretch of relentless output produced his first collections, which have a raw, warm, and intimate acoustic feel. Built on layered acoustic guitar, banjo, introspective lyrics, and rich vocal harmonies, the music began with a lo-fi bedroom closeness and has since grown into something more cinematic and rooted in nature. Fans of Gregory Alan Isakov, Iron & Wine, Caamp, and Andy Shauf will feel at home here. Releasing music through Tiny House Records and working entirely DIY, The National Forest has earned millions of streams worldwide. “No Matter The Miles” has passed 4.6 million on its own, with “Family,” “Borders,” and “every road” close behind. The debut full-length, King of the Enchantments (2023), grew straight out of the daily-writing challenge, and Into the Lupine (2023) followed quickly, deepening the nature-driven storytelling. The self-titled The National Forest (2024) and Letters (2025) were recorded in a self-built studio in the Pacific Northwest, and they explore growing up, changing seasons, and a “cowboy folk” sound.
