We’ll begin in the exhibition David Hockney: Works from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation, where families will explore Hockney’s creative process through playful looking games and guided prompts. Participants will discover how he used digital tools to experiment with color, shape, and composition. Next, families will move from iPad to hands-on making, transforming their designs into bold cut-paper postcards ready to share with loved ones near and far. Along the way, there will be time to reflect, share, and celebrate each other’s creations. To wrap up, each family will write a thoughtful, self-addressed note filled with something kind, encouraging, or lighthearted. Your message will be mailed back to you later as a special surprise. This engaging experience brings together digital creativity, hands-on artmaking, and meaningful connection, with a touch of snail mail magic! Why join? Create something meaningful together, practice close looking at art, and transform a single family artwork into shareable postcards and a heartfelt keepsake, inspired by David Hockney’s joyful practice of connecting with others through art.
